A scanned copy of the original ad Jesse Collier placed in the Memphis Enquirer on October 7, 1836. The ad reads "The lots in the town of Collier, in Shelby County, Tenn., will be offered for sale on the 28th of October, 1836. It lies 24 miles from Memphis, 26 from La Frange, on the Mmephisna dLa Grange railraod and within one mile of the corners of four counties-- Fayette and Shelby, Tenn.; and Marshall and DeSoto, Miss-- It is a high and salubrious situation and well watered. J.R. Collier- H.G. Barbee"
